HEADTEACHER MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a busy eight weeks it has been! A great deal of learning has taken place this half term, and the children have worked incredibly hard. It has been a long stretch, and many of them are understandably tired, so I hope everyone is able to rest and recharge over the ten-day break, ready for the run-up to Christmas and all the excitement and joy it brings.
We have been so lucky with the weather this term, although this week it seems to be making up for all the rain we missed over the summer! Thankfully, that hasn’t dampened our Woodland Wednesdays, which continue to be a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn and have fun outdoors. With Year 6 heading out in the showers this week, we were especially grateful to the PTFS for the fantastic shelter in our wild area.
We have recently expanded the e-safety section of our school website. It is packed with clear, jargon-free information about your child’s online world, including the apps they are likely to be using and practical steps you can take to help keep them safe. Do take a look when you have a momentOnline Safety
It was lovely to see so many of you at parents’ evenings. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 3rd November.
With best wishes,
Mrs Hunter
WOODLAND WEDNESDAYS WITH MRS WELFORD
What an action-packed half term we’ve had at Woodland Wednesdays with Mrs Welford! The children have loved exploring our wild area, embracing the outdoors and getting creative with the wonderful natural materials around them.
There has been plenty of imagination, discovery and hands-on learning! The children have used conkers, sticks, leaves and feathers to create their very own conker stick people, conker comets and leaf people. They also designed their own Green Man, making clothes from natural materials and celebrating the magic of the natural world.
Alongside all the creativity, we have explored the importance of emotional wellbeing by making a spider’s web from string, which provided a lovely talking point for sharing thoughts and feelings. The children also made beautiful natural mobiles, using materials collected from the wild area to create their own unique pieces of outdoor art.
Our learning has extended to the world around us, as we investigated biodiversity and ecosystems, thinking carefully about how we can improve and care for our wild area. We have also begun preparations for our new wildflower beds, looking forward to creating a haven for pollinators and other wildlife when spring arrives.
It has been wonderful to see the children making such fantastic use of our new covered outdoor area, providing even more opportunities to learn, create and explore in the fresh air.
Woodland Wednesdays continue to be a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature, nurture creativity, support wellbeing and develop a deeper understanding of the environment. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings!

GIRLS FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT TOURNAMENT
On 13th October, seven Year 5 and 6 girls represented the school at the Football Development Tournament at Chapel Gate.
The girls delivered an outstanding performance, playing four matches, winning three and drawing one. They scored an incredible 12 goals and conceded none, showcasing their attacking talent and defensive strength throughout the tournament.
The team were thoroughly deserving winners, demonstrating exceptional determination, fantastic teamwork and a brilliant attitude from start to finish. They supported one another, worked tirelessly and represented the school with great pride.
A huge congratulations to all seven girls on a fantastic achievement! We are incredibly proud of you all!

SCHOOL NURSE DROP IN SESSION
We are pleased to let you know that Fiona, from the Dorset Healthcare Nursery Nurse Team, will be holding a parent drop in session on Monday 9th November between 8.45am and 9.45am. There is no need to book; places are on a first come, first served basis on the day.
She can offer advice on a range of topics including sleep, toileting, eating and general parenting. She cannot diagnose general medical ailments (rashes etc.) and the sessions are for parents and carers only.

TPS COFFEE MORNINGS
We are pleased to invite parents and carers to join us for one of our School Coffee Mornings.
These informal gatherings are a lovely opportunity to come along, enjoy a hot drink and biscuit, and have a relaxed chat with members of our staff team.
The coffee mornings provide a welcoming space for parents and carers to:
- Share ideas, knowledge and experiences.
- Ask questions and chat informally with staff.
- Meet and connect with other parents and carers.
- Share thoughts and suggestions about our school community.
There is no formal agenda — just an opportunity to come together, have a chat and share ideas in a friendly and relaxed environment.
We would love to see you there!

WOODLAND WEDNESDAY DATES
Please see below the Woodland Wednesday Schedule for the Autumn Term..
On their specific dates, the children will need to wear appropriate clothing, including waterproofs if the weather is due to be wet – please be aware they may get mucky, so old clothing would be best, and some spare clothes to change into following the activity in the event of wet weather is also advised.
